How to Create Your ABHA ID
- Visit the official ABHA website or app.
- Click "Create ABHA Number" and choose to verify using your Aadhaar card or driving licence.
- Fill in basic details and verify via OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
ABHA Card Eligibility
Any Indian citizen can create an ABHA ID — there's no minimum or maximum age limit, and no restriction based on caste or income. You just need a valid Aadhaar card or driving licence, and a mobile number for OTP verification.
- Age limit: There is no age limit. Adults can self-register with Aadhaar/DL and OTP. For minors and children (including newborns), a parent or legal guardian creates and manages the ABHA ID on the child's behalf.
- Individual or family: ABHA is an individual health ID, not a shared family card — every family member, including children, needs their own separate ABHA number.
- Is it required for Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY)? No. ABHA (your digital health ID) and Ayushman Bharat PMJAY (a health insurance scheme) are separate. You don't need an ABHA ID to get a PMJAY card, but many hospitals now ask patients to create/link one for digital health records.
