RTPS Madhepura: Caste, Income & Residence Certificate

RTPS (Right to Public Service) is Bihar's official e-governance portal for applying to essential certificates. Residents of Madhepura district can apply for caste, income, and residence certificates entirely online, free of charge.

Applications are submitted at serviceonline.bihar.gov.in. There is no application fee for caste, income, or residence (domicile) certificates.

Note: since March 2026, you must log in via Meri Pehchaan (Jan Parichay) single sign-on before you can use the RTPS portal — see that guide first if you don't already have a Meri Pehchaan account.

Step-by-Step Process

1. Visit serviceonline.bihar.gov.in and click "Apply Online."
2. Under RTPS services, select "General Administration Department."
3. Choose the certificate you need: residence certificate, caste certificate, income certificate, or income & asset (EWS) certificate.
4. Select the appropriate level — Block, Sub-Division, or District — and choose Madhepura as your district.
5. Fill in your details: name, parent's/husband's name, gender, address, mobile number, subdivision, and village.
6. Upload a passport-size photo (under 300 KB) or capture one live via webcam.
7. If using Aadhaar for authentication, enter the OTP sent to your linked mobile number.

Required Documents

Valid ID proof (Aadhaar card, voter ID, or ration card) and proof of residence (electricity bill, ration card, or land records) are required. Applicants must be permanent residents of Bihar.
