Bihar offers two major financial support schemes for students continuing education after Class 10 — useful for students from Madhepura pursuing further studies.

Post Matric Scholarship

This scholarship supports SC/ST/OBC/EBC and minority students studying beyond matriculation, covering tuition and maintenance costs, administered through the respective Bihar welfare department portals depending on category.

Bihar Student Credit Card Yojana

Under the 7 Nishchay programme, the Bihar Student Credit Card offers an education loan of up to ₹4 lakh through the Bihar State Education Finance Corporation (BSEFC).

Eligibility

• Permanent resident of Bihar
• Passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board
• Not older than 25 years at the time of application
• Secured admission in an AICTE/UGC-recognised institution

Interest Rate

Simple interest of 4% for general category students, reduced to 1% for women, differently-abled, and transgender students. Repayment begins after course completion and employment.
