The Bihar Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (BOCW) issues labour cards to construction workers, giving access to pension, health, maternity, education, and housing benefits.

Who Can Register

Masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, iron workers, and daily-wage labourers working on buildings, roads, bridges, dams, or similar construction projects in Madhepura district are eligible.

Eligibility

Applicants must be aged 18 to 60, and must have worked as a construction worker for at least 90 days in the preceding 12 months.

How to Apply

Register online at bocwscheme.bihar.gov.in by filling the form, uploading documents, and paying a ₹50 fee — or apply offline at the District Labour Office in Madhepura, where offline processing typically takes 30-45 days.

Renewal

The labour card must be renewed annually with a fresh 90-day work certificate and renewal fee, or it becomes inactive.
