Madhepura Krishi Input Anudan: Crop Damage Compensation
Last updated: 26 July 2026
Madhepura district lies in the Kosi river basin and is prone to flood-related crop damage. Bihar's Krishi Input Anudan Yojana provides financial compensation to farmers whose crops are damaged by floods, heavy rain, or drought.
Eligibility
Both Raiyat (landowning) and non-Raiyat (tenant/sharecropper) farmers are eligible if crop loss is 33% or more. You must be registered on the Agriculture DBT Portal with an Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
Compensation Amount
₹13,500 per hectare for irrigated land and ₹6,800 per hectare for unirrigated/rain-fed land, up to a maximum of 2 hectares per farmer.
How to Apply
Register and apply at dbtagriculture.bihar.gov.in within the application window announced after crop damage is officially surveyed in your block. Farmers already holding a Kisan Credit Card and those already registered on the DBT portal get priority processing.
Stay Prepared
Since Madhepura sees recurring flood risk, it's worth registering on the DBT Agriculture portal in advance of the monsoon season rather than waiting until after crop damage occurs.
